NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received at the Town of Malden City Hall, located at 14 W. Moreland, Malden, Washington, up to the hour of 10:00 a.m. PST on Thursday July 11, 2024, for the Malden Gravel Roads project and will then be opened and publicly read.

The work involves the removal and replacement of damaged gravel roads with a bituminous coat (Otto Seal) applied on top of the new gravel roads in Malden, WA. The project includes both state and federal funding.

A pre-bid meeting will not be held.

All bids shall be submitted on the prescribed Bid Forms and in the manner as stated in this advertisement and in the Bid Document and said bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of cash, cashier’s check, certified check, postal money order, or a surety bond to the Town of Malden in the amount of five

percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Bids submitted on other than the bond form provided by the Town may be subject to rejection. Faxed bids and/or surety bond will not be accepted.

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the outside clearly marked “sealed bid” with the bid opening date and time, and the project name as it appears in this advertisement and the name and address of the bidder. Bids shall be addressed to the City Clerk, Town of Malden, 14 W. Moreland, Malden, WA 99149. The Town of Malden reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities in the bid or in the bidding.

The Engineer’s opinion of probable construction cost is approximately $1,600,000 to $1,900,000.

The Town of Malden in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000d

to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally-Assisted Programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
