Project 2025

“Project 2025? Nothing to see here. Agenda 47 is the go-to,” the Republicans tell us. Well, I went there and surprise, it’s not so much a policy document as a series of Trump videos. But the policy content matches up pretty well.

Despite claiming he knew nothing about Project 2025 (not true, there are videos), that’s the one we should be looking at and here’s why.

It’s a very well developed blueprint for HOW to accomplish the worst goals that were not accomplished in Trump’s first term, partly because the administration got off to a disorganized start. Later, guardrails were enforced by career government officials (many appointed by him) who strongly counseled against illegal, unethical or reckless use of presidential power.

Stung by these failures, the Heritage Foundation and mega donors decided they needed to figure out how to work around and counter these checks. Voila! Project 2025, A Mandate for Leadership. The Republican platform, Agenda 47, is a decoy. It looks amateurish and superficial. Hey, it’s just Donald being Donald. And we know his Modus Operandi: “Guys, here’s what I want to do. Figure it out and get it done. I’ve got a rally and a golf game and a donor event at Mar-a-Lago.”

Loyalists are already being vetted and trained to implement these policies if Trump is elected, no leadership or attention from Trump required. We need to read the fine print before we sign or reject the contract.
