Jet ski racers compete in Apple Pie Jamboree

The event is always held the third weekend in July

PATEROS, Wash. - Watersports enthusiasts raced in the Apple Pie Jamboree last weekend, July 19-21 in Pateros, Wash.

Racers competed in several categories to attempt to be the best in their respective field on the Columbia river.

According to the event's website, "The Apple Pie Jamboree is an annual event that brings together the best of our community to raise money for local students, clubs and community groups. The Apple Pie Jamboree is better than ever with even more events, fun, friends and family."

The winners of each race for the weekend are as follows:

Trinity Klecker won the Ski Women's 2-stroke Lites race, the Ski Stock (4-stroke 1050-1500) and the Ski Women's Stock (4-stroke 1050-1500).

Wyatt Kennedy won the Ski Stock 2-stroke (No AM Hull) race and the Ski Junior (10-15 2-stroke Lites).

Mike Reynolds won the Runabout Open (Any Ski) category, and Matthew Reynolds won the Runabout (Non-turbo 2-and-4-stroke).

Curtis Pitman won Ski Stock 2-stroke Lites, Samuel Mailloux won Beginner and Elif Baydar won the Ski Vet Open (35-plus) race.

Chip Perkins won the X2 event, Ethan Pedersen won Ski Open GP (Any Ski, Barry Ault won Sport Spec and Chris Obuch won the Ski Vintage (550-650) race.

Through six races on the season, the current first-place leaders in the standings are as follows:

Ski 2-stroke (No AM Hull), Wyatt Kennedy, 336 points.

Ski Beginner (550-800cc 2-stroke), Krista Brown, 199.

Ski 2-stroke Lites, Curtis Pitman, 360.

Ski Vintage (550-650), Chris Obuch, 353.

Ski Open GP (Any Ski), Elif Baydar, 341.

Ski Vet Open (35-plus), Elif Baydar, 360.

Runabout (Non-Turbo 2-and-4-stroke), Dalton Johnson, 212.

Runabout Open (Any Ski), Mike Reynolds, 228.

Women's 2-stroke Lites, Elif Bayder, 327.
