Garfield Farmers' Market -Something for everyone

Many vendors will be at this year’s market

GARFIELD — Summer is in full swing with local calendars brimming over with events. One of these is the Garfield Farmers’ Market.

Well into its 2024 season, it will be held—rain or shine-at the town park on 5th Street from 2-6 PM every Sunday through September 29. Just follow the signs in town along Route 27!

The market’s organizer is Betty Walden (AKA “the Garfield Spice Lady”) who has poured her heart into living up to this year’s slogan, “Let the fun begin!” Her booth sells a variety of products, including barbecue sauce, “Rub for Grub,” and her famous “Green Sauce,” that sells out every week. And talk about a fan base! She has admirers as far west as Seattle and as far east (and south) as Louisiana. When you’ve got a Louisiana Cajun singing the praises of your products, you know you’ve created something amazing!

Recent vendors include Kasey and Jessica, whose “Wicked Hen” offers a variety of sublimation mugs.

Next are Albert and Mary, who travel from Idaho to sell their products. He offers “Wolf Ridge Jewelry and Gifts” (including beautiful dream catchers), and she sells “Mary’s Tie Dyes and More,” a variety of t-shirts, tank tops, bandanas, and similar items that would make Jerry Garcia proud.

Kayla’s Kandies, sold by Palouse’s Kayla Martin, are sweet and delicious. Top sellers include Jolly Ranchers, available in regular and sugar-free versions, and Nerd Gummy Clusters.

“Two businesses, one tent!” describes Chelsea and Josh from Tekoa who operate “Moonlight Designs” and “Smashed Lemonades.” In addition to a delicious variety of fresh liquid refreshment, they offer an assortment of sublimation products (special orders welcome). Beth offers “Gramma B’s MicroGreens.” Similar to sprouts, but grown in soil instead of water, they are harvested after two weeks, and live up to their motto, “Getting Back to Eating Well.” Beth also sells beautiful yarn for your next project inspiration.

Last, but not least, is Leroy, whose booth offers delicious sweet treats and Italian Sodas. A Gar-Pal Middle School student, he is working to earn money for the school’s biannual spring break DC trip scheduled for next April.
