PUBLIC NOTICE
Auditor seeks to appoint committee members to write statements for inclusion in the 2024 General Election Local Voters’ Pamphlet
The Whitman County Auditor’s Office is opening a special appointment period to recruit individuals to write “for” and “against” committee statements for the November 5, 2024 General Election Local Voters’ Pamphlet.
Some districts did not appoint a “for”” committee to prepare a statement for the local voters’ pamphlet. As a result, RCW 29A.32.280 directs the Auditor to seek out and appoint up to three members to form the committee.
Committee members are needed to write a “FOR” statement for resolutions from the following jurisdictions:
• Town of Colton Prop No. 1
• Town of Endicott Prop No. 1
• City of Palouse Prop No. 1
• Town of St. John Prop No. 1
• Town of St. John Prop No. 2
• Town of Uniontown Prop No. 1

• Town of Uniontown Prop No. 1
• Town of Rosalia Prop No. 1
• Fire Dist #6 Prop No. 1
• LaCrosse Park & Rec Dist #1 Prop No. 1
• Tekoa Park & Rec Dist #6 Prop No. 1
• Endicott Park & Rec Dist #7 Prop No. 1
• Garfield Cemetery Dist #2 Prop No. 1
• Endicott Cemetery Dist #4 Prop No. 1
Committee Responsibilities:
• Read, understand and fulfill the obligations described in the Whitman County Local Voters’ Pamphlet Administrative Rules.
• Be a resident of the applicable jurisdiction within Whitman County
• Have your name appear in the Local Voters’ Pamphlet and waive anonymity
At least one committee member must be willing to submit their contact information for publication in the local voters’ pamphlet. Those interested, who agree to the above responsibilities, can email a request for appointment to lvp@whitmancounty.gov. The email must include the applicant’s name, voter registration address, phone number and the district for which they wish to write a statement. Appointments will be made in the order that the requests are received.
Deadlines
The deadline to request a committee appointment is Friday August 23, 2024 at 4:30 pm. The deadline to submit the statement is Monday August 26, 2024 at 4:30 pm.
NOTE: The Auditor’s Office is unable to extend any deadlines.
