Garfield School Board to review staffing, lighting

GARFIELD — The Garfield-Palouse School District will hold its regular school board meeting on Thursday, Aug. 22, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The meeting will be in-person and accessible via Zoom, allowing for broader community participation.

The agenda will begin with introductions and opportunities for attendees to address the board. Following this, any changes to the agenda will be discussed.

The consent agenda includes several important items, such as the approval of accounts payable across various funds, the ratification of the 2024-2025 occupational therapy contract for Sierra Dixon Therapy, LLC, and the ratification of stipends for Stevie Pfaff in Food Service & Food Service Grants Management. Additionally, the board will approve the minutes from the previous meeting held on July 25.

New business will cover hiring classified staff for the upcoming school year. The board will consider the approval of 12-month employees, including Debbie Anderson, Trevor Villa, and Trish Gorence, as well as 9-month employees starting Aug. 28, such as Dawn Hunt, Louanne Deerkop and others.

Other key items include the approval of the Garfield Elementary School Student Handbook, payment of an invoice from Apollo Solutions Group and the approval of Field Lighting Resolution #250.
