Colfax Kiwanis Club helps county schools

Club raised $10,000 for back-to-school supplies

COLFAX - The local Kiwanis Club stuffed the bus for several schools throughout the county this year.

Colfax Kiwanis Service Project Manager, Sara Golden said the drive brought in $10,000 this year, including the drive and donations.

According to Golden, the club was able to provide supplies for schools including Garfield, Endicott, St. John and Steptoe.

"Rosauers brought in $1,806," Golden said.

The club helped get school back up and running supplying backpacks at the school during the Back to School night and the Back to School Party at the library Aug. 22 and 23.

Colfax Superintendent Jerry Pugh thanked the Kiwanis Club for all they've done.

"All elementary supplies have been donated this year, that is a huge thing they've done," Pugh said. "We are so grateful and we just want to publicly thank them for doing that for our elementary kids."

Pugh said the club also donated to the high school as well.
