Oakesdale volleyball continues to dominate

Nighthawks start the season at 5-0

OAKESDALE - The Oakesdale Nighthawks continued to dominate the court last week as the team defeated the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves, the Waitsburg Cardinals and the Wilbur-Creston-Keller Wildcats.

Against the Timberwolves, Oakesdale won the match, 3-0. Set scores were 25-16, 25-11, 25-19.

Parker Davis led the Nighthawks with five aces and Megan Crider had 17 assists. Bradyn Henley scored 11 kills and had five blocks in the match. Lyla Kjack and Grace Perry each led the team with nine digs.

Against Waitsburg, the Nighthawks won, 3-0. Set scores were 25-11, 25-4, 25-5.

Addy Linsenbee led Oakesdale with 10 aces, Davis had 16 assists and Kjack had two blocks. Henley had 12 kills and three digs in the match.

For the match against the Wildcats, Oakesdale won, 3-1. Set scores were 25-19, 25-18, 22-25, 25-18.

Jenna Rawls led the Nighthawks with four aces, Crider had 27 assists and Kjack had 15 digs. Henley had 25 kills and three blocks.

Oakesdale moved to 5-0 on the season after defeating the Wildcats.

The Nighthawks went on to battle in a match of undefeateds as they took on the Pomeroy Pirates, who were also 5-0 at the time of the match, on Tuesday, Sept. 24, after press time.

Oakesdale will next play at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 26, at home against the Dayton Bulldogs.
