COLFAX — The man detained for possessing controlled substances pleaded guilty in Whitman County Superior Court.
Jason A. Williams, 38, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver methamphetamine during a hearing in Whitman County Superior Court on Friday, Sept. 27.
According to the court documents, Williams was implicated in a series of events that began with a Facebook conversation between him and an undercover officer on June 29, 2024.
The officer, using a profile to connect with individuals involved in local criminal activities, engaged Williams in discussions about drug use. During the exchange, Williams reportedly admitted to smoking methamphetamine and invited the officer to join him, offering to bring the drug along.
On June 30, the officer arranged to meet Williams at a specific location in Colfax. Upon arrival, Williams was detained for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. He initially denied having any illegal items but later revealed that he had a small amount of drugs in his vehicle, pointing to a backpack where the methamphetamine was located.
A search warrant was subsequently obtained, leading to the discovery of additional methamphetamine and a methamphetamine bong in Williams’s vehicle. Despite initially claiming that he intended to share the drugs rather than sell them, the evidence suggested otherwise.
Throughout the investigation, Williams also provided information regarding ongoing theft investigations, including the theft of golf carts. He implicated another individual, identified as Quintin Dieon Kemper, in the thefts and indicated knowledge of the whereabouts of stolen property.
