Downtown Association to host Fall Crawl

Local businesses participate, free shuttle offered

COLFAX – The Colfax Downtown Association is gearing up for the inaugural Fall Crawl.

The boozy night is set to run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12.

Participants are invited to visit local establishments, enjoy exclusive food and drink specials and enter for a chance to win prizes.

“We don’t have many events for adults. We noticed that if we have something going on, people will come out and support our businesses. We thought it would be super fun to do a fall crawl since we got a couple of new restaurants and shops,” said Allie Cofer, Executive Assistant for Colfax Downtown Association.

Crawlers can start their night by picking up a Fall Crawl punch card at any participating location: the Colfax Golf Course, Wild Ember Kitchen, The Cellar, The Eagles or Los Amigos.

To complete the card, attendees must order a menu item at each stop to receive a stamp.

Once the card is full, it can be turned in at the final location for a chance to win one of four gift baskets, each valued at $200.

“Three of the baskets are from all of our local businesses. One donated basket is like a Moscow mule kit that the realtors put together,” added Cofer.

A free shuttle service will be available throughout the event, running on the half-hour between the Colfax Golf Course and the US Bank parking lot on the quarter-hour.

The final shuttle at 11 p.m. will offer in-town drop-offs only.

The shuttle driver, local Colfax High School art teacher Kelly Barnett, will accept tips.

“He has his own bus. He said he wanted to do it more and we are paying him. We want to promote safe and responsible driving,” added Cofer.

The owners of the new downtown restaurant Wild Ember Kitchen are gearing up for the Fall Crawl and plan to offer special drink options.

“It is a big deal. We want to be involved in the community. We are trying to get people to come in,” said Amanda Packer, Co-Owner of Wild Ember Kitchen with her husband, Trevor Miller. “Especially with the fall and having some fun drinks to correlate with the season.”

The Colfax Downtown Association is organizing the event to support local businesses and foster community spirit.
