Greyhounds shut out the Moscow Bears

Amelia Cobos scores the lone goal

MOSCOW, Idaho - The Pullman Greyhounds girls soccer team got their fourth consecutive shutout of the season with a 1-0 victory over cross-state foe Moscow Bears on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Pullman senior Amelia Cobos scored the game-winning goal in the 54th minute off a free kick. Senior Lillian Cobos made five saves in the shutout on eight Moscow shots on goal.

"Freshman Milena McCann rocked it on defense," said Pullman coach Kate Evermann.

Pullman moved to 7–1 on the season with five total shutouts. Their only loss coming from a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Cheney on Monday, Sept. 9.

The Greyhounds have so far defeated Lakeside, 2-0, Central Valley, 3-2, Deer Park, 3-1, North Central, 1-0, Rogers, 9-0 and East Valley, 2-0.

Pullman moved on to play conference rival the Clarkston Bantams at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in Pullman, after press time. Next up will be an away conference matchup against West Valley of Spokane at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Smith Field.
