Palouse home receives funds

Wells Fargo grants $15,000 for Palouse home

MOSCOW — The Palouse Habitat for Humanity was awarded $15,000 in funds to build a home in Palouse.

The grant awarded through Wells Fargo Foundation will go towards building the Jones family home and is designed to fit the family of seven comfortably and affordably.

Wells Fargo volunteers from the Lewiston and Moscow offices joined Habitat for Humanity volunteers on Thursday, Oct. 10, to prepare for pouring the foundation of the home.

“We appreciate Wells Fargo’s partnership, supporting affordable home building with both funds and helping hands,” said Executive Director of Palouse Habitat for Humanity Jennifer Wallace, noting this is the tenth Palouse Habitat for Humanity home Wells Fargo has supported.

“The Wells Fargo volunteers bring terrific energy to the build site,” Wallace said.

Wallace said the total Wells Fargo has donated towards homes comes to $150,000.

“Welcome Home is part of Wells Fargo’s broader commitment to housing affordability,” said Wells Fargo Vice President of Philanthropy and Community Impact Lauren Hornett, adding that starting Sept. 1, the Bank of Doing engages employees around the world to participate in volunteer opportunities towards accessible, affordable and sustainable homes and communities.

“We were so excited to partner again this year with Palouse Habitat for Humanity,” Hornett said.

Hornett said this builds on a ten year legacy supported by their team in Northern Idaho.

The funding is part of a $6,375 million donation to Habitat for Humanity International through the 2024 Wells Fargo Builds program supporting the construction, renovation and repairing of more than 290 families in communities nationwide.
