Greyhounds move to 6-5 on the season
PULLMAN — The Pullman Greyhounds won both their home matches and lost an away match in volleyball action last week.
On Tuesday, Oct. 8, Pullman fell to the West Valley (Spokane) Eagles, 3-1, before defeating the Deer Park Stags, 3-0, on Thursday, Oct. 10. The Greyhounds defeated the Moscow Bears, 3-2, in a heated matchup on Monday, Oct. 14.
Against West Valley, the Greyhounds lost the first set, 25-20, before taking set two, 25-22. The Eagles won sets three and four, both with set scores of 25-16. West Valley remains undefeated on the season.
Jasmyne Washington led the Greyhounds with 11 kills, three blocks and two aces. Camber Wolfe had a team-high 28 assists and Kate Armstrong led with 17 digs.
The Greyhounds went on to win a home match against Deer Park on Thursday. Set scores were 25-22, 25-23 and 25-17.
Wolfe led Pullman with 25 assists and 10 digs with Ella Forster adding 13 kills.
In a battle to the finish on Monday, the Greyhounds took a 3-2 victory over Moscow. Pullman won the first two sets, 25-13 and 25-16, but the Bears battled back and won the next two sets, 25-14 and 25-22. Pullman won the deciding set, 15-8.
Wolfe had 50 kills on the night with Forster adding 15 kills and Washington notching 12 kills. Rowyn Leed contributed 11 kills and Kitty Keane led Pullman with 17 digs.
In a quick turnaround, the Greyhounds went on to play the North Central Wolfpack on Tuesday, Oct. 15, after press time. The Greyhounds play an away match today, Thursday, Oct. 17, against Rogers before returning home against the East Valley Knights on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
