Halloween hits Whitman County

Events planned for all ages across Whitman County

COLFAX — Whitman County is gearing up for Halloween with a variety of events scheduled throughout the week. Here’s a rundown of the festivities happening in the area:

In Colfax, Trunk-or-Treat will be held in downtown Colfax on Halloween, Oct. 31, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Trick-or-Treat on Main Street will take place on Friday, Oct. 25, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Additionally, the Friends of Whitman County Library will host the Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 8 to 11 p.m. This adults-only fundraising event will feature drinks, snacks, and activities including a costume contest and spooky story readings. Admission is free, and a 50/50 raffle will support library programs.

OAKESDALE — On Halloween at 1 p.m., elementary school students from preschool to fifth grade will trick-or-treat downtown, followed by a school-wide carnival. The Parks & Rec department will sponsor a trunk or treat at the park at 4:30 p.m. In addition, the Mc Coy Valley Museum will open its doors at 6 p.m. on Halloween night for a free movie night. The museum will show Night at the Museum and offer snacks and slushies the whole family can purchase and enjoy. The event will run until 8 p.m.

Tekoa — A trunk-or-treat event will be held on Halloween at 1:30 p.m., sponsored by FCCLA.

Rosalia —Rose Garage will host its annual Halloween Costume Party at 613 South Whitman Avenue, featuring live music by Kyle Richard.

GARFIELD — Halloween festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a costume parade outside Ladow Court, followed by a trunk-or-treat from 6 to 8 p.m. on California Street in front of Schaut’s Marketplace. Chilli dogs and hot cocoa will be provided by Garfield Christian Fellowship Church.

Palouse — Families can enjoy a Spooktacular Kids Event on Oct. 26 from 2 to 6 p.m. on Main Street, featuring games, prizes, and a fan dancer. On Halloween, trunk-or-treat will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hall and Whitman Street near the skatepark. Haunted Palouse continues through Oct. 25, with tickets available online.

LACROSSE — The LaCrosse Community Club is hosting a hotdog and chili feed from 5 to 7 p.m. on Halloween, along with trunk or treat, costume photos, a raffle, and treat bags. A carnival will run from 6:30 p.m. until close at the LaCrosse Community Club.

Endicott — A fall carnival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Endicott School gym, featuring games and prizes.

SAINT JOHN — Local businesses will offer trick-or-treating on Halloween afternoon. Community Pride invites children to trick-or-treat at 102 South Bryant Boulevard from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

UNIONTOWN — Trick-or-Trunk will occur on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 3 to 5 p.m.

PULLMAN — The Whitman County Humane Society invites the community to “Tails and Treats” on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. at 1340 Old Moscow Road. The event includes a costume contest, a photo station, and refreshments. The Gladish Center will host its Annual Halloween Bash from 3 to 6 p.m., featuring carnival games, prizes, and a haunted house from 6 to 8 p.m. for ages 13 and older. Regency Pullman will also be hosting a “Safe Trick-or-Treat” event on Oct. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m., hosted by residents and staff at 1285 SW Center St.
