COLFAX - The Morgan Plowing Bee saw its 33rd year last Saturday.
Organizer John Morgan said the event went well, with weather conducive to the party.
"It was really nice," Morgan said. "I think we had about 26 or 27 tractors."
Morgan said there were approximately 120 to 160 people and there was a little rain previously which settled the dust, making the plowing more pleasant.
"People who came to watch got an opportunity to get on an old tractor and make a round or two," said Morgan, noting that older farmers had some memories come out.
"It's really quite satisfying," said Morgan. "We say it's old boys and old boys toys."
The plowing bee is generational and Morgan said though he is getting older, he is passing off the baton to the next generation.
"It's just a time for people to reflect on things." Morgan said. "These old tractors are fascinating, they replaced the horses and it had a huge impact on agriculture."
For Morgan, having people stop by and visit to reminisce about the good 'ole days of plowing is the most fulfilling part.
"It's fun to see people enjoying what we think is interesting," Morgan said.
