Reed passes for two, rushes for one touchdown
KETTLE FALLS, Wash. — In their second dogfight of the season, the Colfax Bulldogs defeated the Kettle Falls Bulldogs, 27-6, on Friday, Oct. 18.
Colfax had previously defeated Kettle Falls with a 33-0 win on Friday, Sept. 13.
Kettle Falls didn’t score until the final quarter as Colfax built a steady lead, scoring one touchdown in each of the four quarters.
Colfax opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 27-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Ryker Reed to junior wide receiver Brayden McNealy. The point-after touchdown (PAT) attempt kick failed and Colfax led, 6-0.
In the second quarter, senior wide receiver Zach Cooper caught a 28-yard touchdown pass from Reed. This time Reed succeeded on the PAT run and Colfax was up, 14-0, heading into halftime.
In the third quarter, senior running back John Largent punched in a 4-yard touchdown run to put Colfax up, 20-0, after the PAT kick failed.
Kettle Falls stifled the would-be shutout with a 4-yard touchdown run (run failed) in the fourth quarter. Colfax answered with Reed getting an 18-yard touchdown run. Junior kicker Tyler Hough kicked the PAT to give the final score of 27-6.
Colfax moved to 5-2 on the season, 4-0 in league play. The (Colfax) Bulldogs next play their final home game of the season at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 24, against Davenport. They will finish out the regular season with an away game against the Liberty Lancers at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1.
