Ferguson leads statewide in governor's race

COLFAX — As of Thursday, Nov. 7, Democratic candidate Bob Ferguson is leading the statewide race for Washington governor with 56.13% of the vote, while Republican candidate Dave Reichert holds 43.68%.

Over 2.8 million votes have been counted across the state, with 5,631 write-in votes recorded, making up 0.2% of the total votes cast.

The race is closer in Eastern Washington counties, with Reichert leading in rural areas:

Lincoln County: Reichert has 76.26% (3,961 votes), while Ferguson holds 23.41% (1,216 votes).

Whitman County: Reichert leads slightly with 51.01% (5,889 votes) to Ferguson’s 48.83% (5,638 votes).

Adams County: Reichert has 76.15% (2,158 votes), while Ferguson has 23.8% (674 votes).

Franklin County: Reichert leads with 64.97% (16,866 votes) to Ferguson’s 34.94% (9,070 votes).

Spokane County: Reichert is ahead with 54.11% (123,979 votes), while Ferguson has 45.7% (104,722 votes).

Stevens County: Reichert holds 70.87% (7,103 votes), with Ferguson at 28.97% (2,904 votes).

Despite strong support for Reichert in Eastern Washington, Ferguson’s overall lead in urban counties and Western Washington places him in a favorable position as more ballots are counted.

Final certification is set for November 26.
