Initiative 2109 fails to pass

COLFAX –– As of Nov. 7, Initiative 2109 is currently failing to pass in the state election.

Initiative 2109 would, “Repeal an excise tax imposed on the sale or exchange of long-term capital assets by individuals who have annual capital gains of over $250,000,” according to the Washington State Voters Pamphlet.

As of press time, Initiative 2109, is failing with only 1,036,520, 36.62%, of votes across the state, with 1,793,641, 63.38%, of voters casting ballots against the measure.

In Whitman County, the initiative has garnered 4,360, 38.41%, yes votes; and 6,991, 61.59%, no votes.

In Spokane County, the initiative has garnered 95,392, 42.4%, yes votes; and 130,644, 57.8%, no votes.

In Adams County, the initiative has garnered 1,449, 52.12%, yes votes; and 1,331, 47.88%, no votes.

In Lincoln County, the initiative has garnered 2,929, 57.44%, yes votes; and 2,170, 42.56%, no votes.

In Stevens County, the initiative has garnered 5,535, 56.47%, yes votes; and 4,267, 43.53%, no votes.

In Franklin County, the initiative has garnered 12,759, 50.87%, yes votes; and 12,325, 49.13%, no votes.
