Temporary changes amid statewide system outage
COLFAX — The Whitman County Superior Court Clerk’s Office temporarily modified its services due to an ongoing statewide system outage caused by unauthorized activity on the Washington Courts network.
The Administrative Office of the Courts has secured essential systems and is actively working to restore full functionality.
During this period, the Clerk’s Office will continue to provide essential services with some adjustments.
The Clerk’s Office remains open during regular business hours, processing filings of pleadings, emergency orders, and access to physical court records held at the office. However, electronic court record searches are temporarily unavailable.
The Superior Court intends to reschedule all hearings scheduled from Nov. 4-8, except those related to criminal and juvenile cases.
The court administrator will send affected parties updated scheduling information. Time-sensitive filings will continue to be processed, and alternative procedures are in place for emergency matters.
The public should contact the Clerk’s Office directly for questions regarding Whitman County court operations and available services.
The Administrative Office of the Courts should be contacted for all inquiries about the system outage, security protocols, and the restoration time line.
Service modifications are expected to remain in place through the week.
Additional updates will be posted on the Clerk’s Office web page at whitmancounty.org.
In a statement, the office expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and understanding as efforts continue to maintain services and protect the integrity of court records and systems.
