Bulldogs and Lancers face off

Colfax and Liberty played each other twice in one week

MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. - The Liberty Lancers got a bit of revenge against the Colfax Bulldogs on Friday, Nov. 1.

After the Bulldogs defeated the Lancers, 30-28, in a comeback victory earlier in the season, Liberty defeated Colfax, 27-8, on Friday.

Colfax opened the scoring late in the first quarter on a 12-yard touchdown run by sophomore quarterback Ryker Reed. Reed added the PAT run to give the Bulldogs an 8-0 lead.

Early in the second quarter, Liberty scored on a touchdown pass, but a quick sack on the PAT play kept Colfax in the lead. At halftime, the Bulldogs led, 8-6.

Late in the third quarter, the Lancers took the lead on a touchdown run, with the PAT pass completed, to gain a 14-8 advantage.

One minute into the fourth quarter, Liberty kicked a short field goal to give the Lancers some breathing room. Two minutes later, Liberty scored on a short touchdown run, adding the PAT kick for a 24-8 lead.

With four minutes to go in the game, the Lancers added another field goal, bringing the final score to 27-8.

The Liberty win gave the teams a 1-1 record against each other with both having 5-1 records in League, which forced the pair to play each other again for a tiebreaker on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in Medical Lake.

The Bulldogs defeated the Lancers, 18-7. A full box score was unavailable at press time.
