Conservation district hosts breakfast and more
COLFAX — Palouse Conservation District is inviting farmers and ranchers to a November Soil Health Breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m., on Thursday, Nov. 14.
The breakfast is taking place at The Center, adjacent to the Whitman County Library, located at 110 South Main Street.
Farmers and ranchers are invited to start their morning with coffee and breakfast while discovering innovative soil health practices being implemented by fellow producers.
The featured speaker is Brian Bohnhoff of Precision Bio, who will be presenting on “Leveraging Biology on Your Farm.”
Bohnoff will share insights on reducing synthetic inputs and enhancing profitability through biological methods.

Future soil health breakfasts will be held on Dec. 12, 2024, and Jan. 9 2025.
In addition, Palouse Conservation District will be hosting a Conservation Talk Series at 6 p.m., via Zoom, on Thursday, Nov. 21.
The conservation talk series focuses on “Protecting Your Home From Wildfire.”
The talk is designed for property owners or managers looking to enhance resilience against wildfires and will be led by Washington Department of Natural Resources, Community Resilience Coordinator Robert Boles.
Boles will provide insights into practical actions to take around the home to mitigate wildfire risks, create defensible space and implement effective strategies to safeguard properties and communities.
The event will be free and open to the public.
