Eagles fall out of Southeast 1B volleyball tournament
SUNNYSIDE, Wash. — The St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse (SJEL) Eagles dropped two matches at the Southeast 1B volleyball tournament last week.
On Monday, Oct. 28, the Eagles fell to the Walla Walla Academy Knights (record of 14-2) by a score of 3-0. Set scores were 25-14, 25-13 and 25-9.
Senior Kate Hergert paced the eagles with two aces, two kills and two blocks. Junior Sophie Anderson led with six digs, eight assists and two kills. Junior Lil Barlass added five digs and fellow junior Chloe Waddell notched two blocks. Senior Avery Fleming and junior Vanessa Webb each had two kills in the match.
The Eagles went on to play the Sunnyside Christian Knights on Wednesday, Oct. 30, in loser-out action. The Eagles lost to the Knights (record of 11-5) with a final score of 3-0. Full statistics were unavailable as of press time.
SJEL finishes the season with a record of 7-10. Hergert and Fleming received First Team All-League honors, with Anderson making the Second Team All-League. Waddell and Barlass were honorable mentions.
