Building permits quarterly report

COLFAX — Building Inspector Ginny Rumiser presented the last five years of building permit totals to County Commissioners during the Monday, Oct. 21 regular commission meeting.

Whitman County building and development division issues building permits including structural plumbing and mechanical, personnel perform plan review, building inspections and retain building records.

Building permits issued in 2024 came to 68, 13 pending and 15 for commercial construction. There was a total of 130 inspections and 41 final inspections. Total miles driven by public works in 2024 came to 3,705, with an estimated average of 57.89 miles per day.

Colton residential valuations came to $583,313.77; Endicott Valuations, $10,000; Lamont valuations, $0.00; Malden Valuations, $54,185 and commercial valuation comes to $18,961,330.03.

The total valuations for 2024 came to $21,664,330.11

Total permit fees in 2024 came $68,066.58, total plan review fees $41,692.03, with total fees at $109,758.61.

In 2023, the county saw permits issued, 11 pending, three single family dwellings and two manufactured homes.

Total inspections in 2023 were at 111, 26 final inspections, with 11 commercial construction at $1,790,400 in commercial valuations. Total miles driven by public works came to 4,180, at an estimated 65,31 per day.

Total valuations for 2023 came to $4,624,170.89, total permit fees $30,326, plan review fees $14,535, at total fees of $44,861.

In 2022, there were 63 permits issued, 13 pending, five single family dwellings and two manufactured homes. Total inspections came to 102, final inspections 22. Total miles driven came to 3,422, at an estimated 76.04 per day. Total valuations came to $5,224,592. Total permit fees were at $35,151, plan review fees $20,315 coming to total fees of $55,466.

There were 39 permits issued in 2021, 12 pending, three single family dwellings, one manufactured homes, total inspections 143, total final inspections 20. In 2021 total miles driven were at 4,279, at an estimated 76.04 per day. Total valuations came to $2,980,640, total permit fees $24,789, plan review fees $13,596, at a total of $38,385 in fees.

There were 59 permits issued in 2020, seven pending, four single family dwellings and four manufactured homes. Total inspections came to 78, with 16 final inspections. In 2020, total miles driven was at 2,588, an estimated 40.44 miles per day. Total valuations came to $3,121,283, total permits $22,911 and total plan review fees $9,581, fees totalling $32,492.

There were permits issued in 2019 were at 64, eight pending, four single family dwellings and zero manufactured homes, total inspections of 144 and total final inspections of 19. The total miles driven in at 2,627 at an estimated 52.72 miles per day. Total valuations of 2019 came to $4,849,938, total permit fees $32,978 and total plan review fees $13,006, at a total of $45,984.

From 2019 through 2023 Colton, Endicott, Lamont and Malden are reported to have valuations at $0.00.
