T-wolves boys beat Wildcats, fall to Pirates

Tekoa-Rosalia finishes weekend 1-1

TEKOA - The Tekoa-Rosalia Timerwolves boys basketball team split last weekend's games by defeating the Colton Wildcats on Friday, Dec. 13, and falling to the Pomeroy Pirates on Saturday, Dec.14.

The Timberwolves beat the Wildcats, 39-38, and lost to Pomeroy, 61-18.

A full box score was not available at press time for the game against Colton.

Against Pomeroy, the Pirates led, 12-9, to end the first quarter and built a 28-14 lead at halftime. Tekoa-Rosalia couldn't muster a point in the third quarter and scored four in the fourth while Pomeroy added 20 points in the third quarter and 13 in the fourth to win the game, 61-18.

Seth Rerecich led the Timberwolves with six points, followed by Joseph Menga with four. Brian Place and Ty Weldy each added three points and Westley Bryan notched two.

Tekoa-Rosalia went on to face 2B opponent Upper Columbia Academy Lions Tuesday, Dec. 17, after press time. The Timberwolves will next face the Waitsburg Cardinals in an away game at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, before returning home to play the Garfield-Palouse Vikings at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, in Rosalia.
