Lose 50-40 in match-up
BURBANK, Wash. — The Colfax Bulldogs girls basketball suffered a non-league loss to the Columbia (Burbank) Coyotes, 50-40, on Saturday, Dec. 14.
Against Columbia, it was a close matchup until late in the game. The score was tied, 17-17, to end the first quarter. The Coyotes gained a slight edge before halftime, scoring nine points in the second quarter with Colfax scoring seven.
Each team scored 10 points in the third quarter to keep it a two-point game. In the final quarter, Columbia scored 14 points with Colfax scoring six, giving the 50-40 win for the Coyotes.
Colfax senior Brenna Gilchrist led the Bulldogs with seven rebounds, while adding two assists. Junior Isabella Huntley notched four rebounds, an assist and a steal. Junior Lola Hennigar added five rebounds and an assist while junior Riley Hennigar grabbed three rebounds. Eighth grader Allie Jenkin contributed three rebounds, three steals and an assist.
Next up for the Bulldogs were to take on 1A opponent Lakeside (9 Mile) Eagles on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
