Vikings boys defeat Eagles

Senior Landon Orr scores 20 points

ST. JOHN - The Garfield-Palouse (Gar-Pal) Vikings bested the St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse Eagles, 62-37, on Friday, Dec. 13.

The Vikings gained an early lead to go ahead 10-6 to end the first quarter. At halftime, the Vikings built a 24-12 advantage.

The Eagles kept pace with the Vikings for the third quarter, scoring 17 points and Gar-Pal scoring 21. With the Vikings adding 17 points to their tally in the final quarter and the Eagles scoring seven, Gar-Pal came away with the win.

Gar-Pal senior Landon Orr led the Vikings with 20 points on eight field goals and going 3-for-7 from the free-throw line. Bryce Pfaff added 17 points for Gar-Pal, hitting eight field goals.

The Vikings moved to 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in League play. Gar-Pal was originally scheduled to play the Dayton Bulldogs on Saturday, Dec. 13, but the game was postponed due to illness for Dayton. The game has been rescheduled for Friday, Jan. 31, in Palouse.

Next up for the Vikings will be to take on the Pomeroy Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, in Palouse.
