COLFAX — Whitman County District Court reported the following criminal case dispositions from Jan. 1 to Jan. 3
Jan. 1
Orville Johnson pled guilty to first-degree trespass and is senteneced to 60 days of jail, 60 suspended and a fine of $500 suspended. The defendant has $243 in total fines, $200 can be converted to community service at $17 an hour to be completed with proof provided by the probation department by May 31, 2025. The defendant must have no criminal violations of law and supervised probation for 12 months, unsupervised as soon as all essential requirements are met. The defendant must complete 12 hours of community service, to be verified within 90 days. If he uses his special training for community service, his court costs will be reduced by any out-of-pocket expenses spent on the service.
Jan. 3
Jeremy Robinson was found guilty of fourth-degree assault and is sentenced to one day in jail. The defendant must have supervised probation for 24 months and obtain a mental health evaluation from a state licensed mental health provider with filed proof within 60 days.
David Crowe charges of violation of protection order was dismissed pursuant to a plea agreement. The defendant was given notice of ineligibility to possess a firearm for violation of domestic violence and is sentenced to 18 days in jail. The defendant has fines totaling $15 to be paid by Dec. 31, 2025 and supervised probation for 24 months with no criminal violations of law. The defendant must meet with probation to discuss the need for domestic violence and any recommended treatment. Upon release, he must stay in contact with probation as directed and may petition the court for transition to unsupervised probation or termination if and when the circumstances are warranted.
