Colfax FCCLA STAR events competitors move on to state

COLFAX — Three students participating in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Students Taking Action with Recognition (STAR) events are moving onto state competition March 4-7 in Spokane.

Region 9 FCCLA STAR Events competitors who are recognized are Dory Doty receiving a silver medal in job interview; Queenie Mayer was awarded the gold meal for Repurpose and Redesign; and Lillian Weatherspoon won the gold medal for Repurpose and Redesign

STAR Events are competitive events which members compete at the regional, district, state and nation levels.

Participating students are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills and career preparation.

STAR events offer students skill development in cooperation, by working in teams to accomplish specific goals, individuals working alone to accomplish goals and competitive in which an individual or team performance is measured by criteria.
