COLFAX — Whitman County District Court reported the following criminal case dispositions from Jan. 17

Cody Betzendorfer, comes before the state of Washington pursuant to a plea agreement to amend the charges of driving under the influence to first-degree negligent driving, operating a motor vehicle negligent and endangering or likely to endanger person or property while exhibiting effects of consuming alcohol. Pursuant to a plea agreement the state dismissed the changes of failure to renew tabs in two months and defective tail light. The defendant is found guilty of first-degree negligent driving and is sentenced to one day in jail with credit for zero and fines totaling $1,000 at $50 a month within 60 days. The defendant is ordered not to drive a vehicle without a valid license and have no criminal violations of law or alcohol related infractions. Defendant must install a functioning interlock ignition interlock device and has 24 months of supervised probation, unsupervised for all months if requirements of the sentence and fines have been completed. Defendant must obtain a substance use disorder evaluation within 60 days and attend a DUI Victim impact panel, defendant may perform community service. All probation will end after 12 months or soon after all conditions are completed. The defendant may petition for early termination of probation after 12 months and successful completion of all terms.
