Election and tax levies certified for general election
COLFAX — The Whitman County Auditor’s office confirmed the 2024 General Election certification as of Tuesday, Nov. 26.
Whitman County Auditor Sandy Jamison reported to County Commissioners during the Monday, Dec. 2 workshop that the election results were official and were certified.
Jamison also asked about payment for the county’s portion of expenses of the primary election and noted the county would be getting a bill for the general election in the next few weeks.
Whitman County Assessor Wraylee Flodin reminded Commissioners they would be certifying levies during the regular business meeting.
“There are a few districts that we haven’t seen paperwork on,” reported Flodin.
During the regular business meeting Commissioners reviewed the countywide tax levies, moving to approve a resolution to certify the countywide tax levies.
There are 16 town and city tax levies passing on the 2024 General Election including one in Colton, three in Endicott, three in Oakesdale, three in Palouse, one in Rosalia, two in St. John, one in Tekoa and two in Uniontown.
For fire, park and cemetery districts, there are 12 including a levy for Fire District 6; LaCrosse, Garfield, St. John, Oakesdale, Rosalia, Tekoa and Endicott Park Districts; and Oakesdale, St. John, Endicott and Whitman County Cemetery Districts.
There were a total of 28 tax levies passed on the ballot during the General Election.
