Jan. 27, 1970 - Nov. 23, 2024
Ted Allen Gay, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 23, 2024, in Spokane, Wash.
He was born in Colfax to Russell and Penny (Holbrook) Gay on January 27, 1970. Ted grew up in Colfax on the family farm and graduated from Colfax High School in 1988. He then went on to attend Spokane Community College where he received his degree as a diesel mechanic.
He came back to Colfax shortly after where he worked for JTI for two years before going to work for Roger and Dean Miller. Ted met Pamela Griffen in high school and were married shortly after her high school graduation in June 1991. They moved to Spokane and together they welcomed five children; Makayla, Talia, Alauna, Ciarra, and Matthew. Ted and Pam later divorced.
Ted attended Fourth Memorial Church where he sang in the choir and met Anne who he married on April 21, 2006. Together they blended their families, where he affectionately earned the title, "Big Daddy." Soon after their marriage, they started their business, Cut Above, in 2010 at the hands of God. Everything they did was built on integrity and their faith. Ted and Anne enjoyed going on many cruises together as well as family vacations. He earned his pilot's license through Inland Helicopter at Felts Field. In April this year, Ted checked off visiting Panama from his bucket list.
He is survived by his wife, Anne, of 18 years with their three-year-old Yorkie, Weston, at their home in Spokane; eight children, Makayla (Christopher Jr.) Huppe, Talia Gay, Ciarra (Tanner) Cunningham, Matthew (Kaitlyn) Gay, April (Darin) Honodel, Dylan (Micki) Whitaker, Ashley (Jeromey) Austin and Brittany (Wayne) Froelich; 11 grandchildren whom he was so very proud of, Jared, Adalyn, Aspen, Calliope, Sasha, Issoria, Jack, Jacob, Bella, Zander and Elijah; his sisters, Sandra (David) Hill and Lisa (Aaron) Hammond and brother, John (Jodi) Gay, as well as many nieces and nephews.
