St. John Winterfest

ST. JOHN— The St. John Winterfest is coming this weekend with activities to celebrate the upcoming holidays and a visit from Mrs. Claus at the library.

Winterfest will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, with the Holiday Fair taking place until 3 p.m. at the Eccles Community Hall, 9752 U.S. Highway 23.

There will be live music, a songfest, homemade soups, baked goods all available to dine in and take out. Local area crafters, artisans and makers will be selling items for holiday shopping.

Soup in the fire station profits will go towards nonprofit Rae of Change, Lucy’s Legacy.

From noon to 4 p.m. the St. John library is hosting pool-golf. Mrs. Claus will make an appearance at the library at 1 p.m. to read and do a craft with children.

Hot chocolate and hot cider will be available at 4 p.m. until the parade.

From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. pictures with Santa at Torry’s Country Store, 102 Front Street.

Going from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. there will be reindeer games at the lot east of Heritage Hardware.

Line up for the Torchlight parade will occur at at 4:30 p.m. and starting at 5 p.m. with fireworks over downtown afterwards.

There is a Winterfest Benefit auction Sunday, Dec. 8, all funds raised in the live and silent auctions will improve the St. John Community Building, Fairgrounds and Cookshack along with continuing to support organizations in St. John.
