Tekoa-Rosalia made a fourth-quarter rally
TEKOA - Late in the fourth quarter, the Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves girls basketball team made a comeback to defeat the Valley Christian Panthers, 47-42, on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
The Timberwolves took a 10-o lead to start the game before the Panthers could muster a single point. At the end of the first quarter, Tekoa-Rosalia led, 10-5.
Valley Christian kept pace with Tekoa-Rosalia in the second quarter and the halftime score became 22-16 in favor of the Timberwolves.
The third quarter was a tough one for Tekoa-Rosalia as the team gained seven points but allowed the Panthers to score 14. Valley Christian took the lead with 1:20 left in the third frame, taking a 26-25 lead. At the end of the third quarter, the Panthers had a 30-27 advantage.
The Timberwolves fought back in the final quarter and with three minutes remaining in the game retook the lead. At the end of the game, Tekoa-Rosalia came away with the five-point victory.
Tekoa-Rosalia will next play another home game at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, against the Dayton Bulldogs. The Timberwolves will then travel to Spokane Valley for a rematch against Valley Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10.
